RFID Integration into a Low Power Sensor Platform

چکیده

Beyond identification purposes, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is an elegant way to transmit wireless sensor data. There are several RFID transponder ICs on the market, but for the data read out of the sensors, a low power microcontroller (μC) with a specific functionality is also often a necessary part of the system. So we present an easy way to integrate the functionality of the RFID transponder directly into the microcontroller. This reduces costs and minimizes the PCB footprint. In particular, an implementation of an RFID tag, compatible with ISO/IEC 14443-2, Type B, into a commercial low power μC is demonstrated.

The Effect of Radio Waves on the Quality and Safety of Wearable Sensors in Healthcare

The industrial Internet of Things (IoT) is aiming to interconnect humans, machines, materials, processes and services in a network. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) comprises the less power consuming, light weight and effective Sensor Nodes (SNs) for higher network performance. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and sensor networks are both wireless technologies that provide limitless future po...

Demonstration: RFID Sensor Networks with the Intel WISP

We demonstrate a simple RFID sensor network comprised of an Intel WISP and a commodity UHF RFID reader. WISPs are devices that gather their operating energy from RFID reader transmissions, in the manner of standard RFID tags, and further include sensors, e.g., accelerometers, and provide a very small-scale computing platform. We believe that this makes them an attractive alternative to motes fo...

Towards a Reference Architecture for an Integration Platform for Diverse Smart Object

Although the cost-effective integration of diverse smart object technologies like radio-frequency identification (RFID), real-time locating systems (RTLS), and wireless sensor networks (WSN) into existing enterprise infrastructures is very important for companies, integration aspects are ignored by researches frequently. Furthermore it could be observed, that existing commercial middleware prod...

Attacking ECDSA-Enabled RFID Devices

The elliptic curve digital signature algorithm (ECDSA) is used in many devices to provide authentication. In the last few years, more and more ECDSA implementations have been proposed that allow the integration into resource-constrained devices like RFID tags. Their resistance against power-analysis attacks has not been scrutinized so far. In this article, we provide first results of power-anal...

A Wirelessly-Powered Platform for Sensing and Computation

We present WISP, a wireless, battery-free platform for sensing and computation that is powered and read by a standards compliant Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) RFID reader. To the reader, the WISP appears to be an ordinary RFID tag. The WISP platform includes a general-purpose programmable flash microcontroller and implements the bi-directional communication primitives required by the Electronic Pr...
